Poldark vs. Warleggan
February 14, 2017
Happy Birthday, Valentine Warleggan (or is it Poldark…?!)!
Thank you Winston Graham for your twelve wonderful historical fiction novels about the Poldark family in Cornwall, England, 1783-1820. And thank you PBS for your amazing films based on the Poldark series.
Happy Valentine’s Day to all! 💘

Mary, it’s nice to know you are a Poldark lover too. I wrote a post a couple of weeks ago about our Poldark encounters in Cornwall. https://theeternaltraveller.wordpress.com/2017/01/30/poldark-is-everywhere/

OMGosh! I loved your post! Just read it! Somehow I had missed it as I subscribe to your blog. Wonderful photos and the map helped too. Someday I’ll tour that area, maybe when the hype has died down, though a pretty picture of Aiden Turner as Ross Poldark is still available! 😉 I am exhausting myself reading the books! I’m on book ten right now. I hate that the end is in sight, but I still can’t slow down! I read 2-4 hours each night! It’s become an obsession! The story is so captivating. What a wonderful and brilliant writer Winston Graham was. He knew so much about so many aspects of the story, which takes place from 1783-1820 – society, economics, mining, weather, history, sailing, steam engine, farming, plants, childbirth, doctoring, food and drink, human nature and haute couture! Each book is amazing. When I close the last one I imagine myself opening the first again and starting over again! I dread the end of the books and saying goodbye to the characters! 😦
