A Poem About and Images of A Snowy Day

Snow Globe
by Mary McAvoy
The snow has returned as it always does.
This time, jumbo, nearly weightless flakes
add to its blanket on every up-facing surface.
A soundproof cover wraps the earth
and softens the vibrations of the world.
The silence is broken only by the
muffled rumble of accumulated snow tumbling off the roof.
Here inside my snow-globe
I pass the afternoon in a magical spell of wonder,
unmarred by age,
at nature’s ever-changing canvas.
